Georgia: up to Ushguli
Georgia had been on the list for years. Two weeks felt like a lot until the first mountain road reminded me how slow 100 km can be.
Route
From the coast inland, then north into Svaneti and up to Ushguli. The last stretch is rough gravel with a few water crossings in early summer.
Water crossings
Walk it first, always. The deepest one came up to the footpegs; the bike was fine, my boots were not.
Two tubes
One puncture would have been an inconvenience. The second one, a day later, would have been a problem without the spare. I now carry both a front and a rear tube.
